Deadly sunflowerkernels

Free translated / reinterpreted from Anita Kahle www.marsdorfweb.de Original text by http://www.tierundnatur.de

If bird-friends do the nest-box-cleaning in autumn then they can detecting over and over one or two mummifies and skeletal tit kids in the nest material. That's no reason at all to seriously anxiety. The nature do balance such occasions with the quantity clutch of eggs (great tits and blue tits: up to 12 respectively 14 eggs). The problem is however when the total brooding are dead in the nest.

Six reasons for such total loss are possible:
  1. Famished due to trouble. It was improbable as tits did only overreact about intense trouble. There weren't intense troubles.
  2. Famished for luck of insects. There wasn't a exceptionally spell of bad weather this time.
  3. Famished for dead their parents. Possible but improbable, as near the nest aren't streets. But cats take capture tits...
  4. Contamination by biological poisons. That's not out of the question, but my neighbour has poisons sprayed after the bird parents stay away.
  5. Dead to bacterially disease. If the bird food spoiled, then is it absolutely possible.
  6. Dead to false (inept) food. Also possible. Vegetable food is difficult to digest for all tit - kids and other nestling. Seeds, kernels, bread and so on are inept (false) for all nestling. Do not feed the birds, when is it spring time. Feed only in a hardly winter, with ice and snow!
I saw some dried tits (the young generation) one day. And I found many old sunflower kernels in the nest. What's happened? I think, tits have proffered easy reachable sunflower kernels and not the important animally protein food. The young generation has refused this food or it has got indigestion's or intestinal infection, because the food was bacterially contaminates. Why didn't feed tits natural food; spiders, caterpillars, plant louses, worms and so on? Because sunflower kernels and other pits were easy to find.

Please, don't feed kernels in springtime, only in cold winter with snow and ice.
And please, do not food in a little house. The food can fast be bacterially contaminates - it's spoiled.
